Organisms: Today, I noticed many different organisms and signs of them than last time. I went down to the mud by the pond and noticed that there were prints that looked like they were from a small deer. I also noticed prints that had small claws and were possibly from a raccoon. I also noticed many birds and heard them as well. Crickets were making a lot of noise as well down by the pond. I also saw a few squirrels as well.
Research Question: The pattern of leaf-fall has not changed much since my last visit. Most of the trees closest to the water have lost most of their leaves while the trees farther in have lost close to none. Close to the pond, all trees have completely colored, while the trees 100 yards in haven't colored at all yet. It was pretty windy at the trails today so that did affect the following results slightly. The Oak trees by the water have lost most of their leaves and were losing the remaining ones at close to 10 per hour. The Oak trees 30 yards in were losing their leaves at 6 leaves per hour. The Sassafras trees haven't been following the same pattern as closely as the Oaks. The Sassafras have been coloring just as much and have lost almost all of their leaves, close to and farther away from the water. So far, this is still the opposite of what I stated in my hypothesis.
